The Susquehannock Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the South Western Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Susquehannock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Susquehannock had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-run drubbing they dealt York Suburban on Tuesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 21-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.
Andrew Unglesbee made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Rafi Hernandez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, Grayson Copenhaver was incredible, going 5-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That home run was his first of the season. Brayden Krebs was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Susquehannock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .608. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, South Western fell victim to Hershey and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Trojans. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Susquehannock's record now sits at 5-1. As for South Western, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Susquehannock might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from South Western in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
