Baseball Recap: Hernando Finds Playoff Glory Versus North Marion

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hernando walked away with it. They skirted past the North Marion Colts 4-2. For the Leopards, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 win the Colts walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Cadyn Williams tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Hernando's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaine Ellis, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Hernando's win bumped their record up to 15-12. As for North Marion, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-12.

Hernando will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
