Softball Recap: Lanai Wins Going Away Against Hana

Lanai won the last time they faced Hana and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pine Lads blew past the Dragons 32-25. Considering the Pine Lads have won five games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Mahealani Esteban, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, nine RBI, and four runs. Another player making a difference was Malia George, who got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with six RBI, four runs, and one stolen base.

Lanai always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .597. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Lanai's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hana, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Lanai and Hana will both be playing Molokai the next time they take the field. The Dragons will head out to face the Farmers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Pine Lads will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
