With a playoff win on the line, Gibault Catholic rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Maryville Christian Lions by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Gibault Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but AUBRY THOMAS led the charge by getting 13 digs and three aces. That's the most aces THOMAS has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of BRYNN MOORE, who had nine digs and two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Maryville Christian lost, don't look at Brooklynn Thien. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and one assist.

Gibault Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Maryville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 23-9.

Gibault Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Marissa/Coulterville on the 30th. Maryville Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
