The Claremont Wolfpack will venture away from home to square off against the Troy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Wolfpack fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They snuck past Diamond Ranch with a 19-14 victory on Friday.

Jerred Pocock looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 289 yards and two touchdowns.

Claremont didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Fyffe and Garrett Muniz. Another thorn in Diamond Ranch's side was Nathan Ordonez, who made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended a pass.

Meanwhile, Troy blew past Sunny Hills, posting a 38-6 win on the road. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Lancers are ranked 516th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Troy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rudy Alcala, who threw for 252 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt. A healthy portion of that aerial production (155 yards to be exact) went to Vander Ploog, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
