ED White won the last time they faced Sandalwood and things went their way on Friday too. The Commanders simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Saints 49-6. Given the Commanders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Saints are ranked 333rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading ED White to victory were King Boylston and Rontrez Loyd. Boylston threw for 137 yards and a pair of TDs, while Loyd rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 58 yards. A healthy portion of Boylston's aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to King Mercer.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: ED White was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to ED White's defense and their five sacks. Sandalwood's QB won't forget Josiah Smith anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last three games he's played. Julian Holt got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
ED White's record is now 6-1. As for Sandalwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. ED White will welcome Oakleaf at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Boylston and Jack McKissock. As for Sandalwood, they will be playing at home against Eastside at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
