Softball Recap: Bureau Valley Storm vs. Monmouth-Roseville Titans        
        
		
            
 Bureau Valley put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season  on Friday. They put the hurt on the Monmouth-Roseville Titans with a sharp  7-1 victory. The  win was a breath of fresh air for Bureau Valley as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
  Madison Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 11 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits. Smith was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and a  double.
 In other batting news, Bureau Valley let  Sadie Bailey and  Les Maynard loose on the outfield. Bailey  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4, while  Maynard  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-3.  Emma Stabler was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Bureau Valley's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 12-8. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with that  defeat, which was their 13th straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bureau Valley will  take on Hall at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Bureau Valley's pitching crew has only allowed four  runs per game  this season, so Hall's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Sherrard at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Sherrard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2  runs per game  this season.
