Baseball Recap: Lincoln Northeast Comes Up Short

After flying high against Crete on Saturday, Lincoln Northeast came back down to earth. The Rockets came up short against the Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks on Monday, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 7-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Barrett Batt was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one stolen base.

With the loss, Lincoln Northeast broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-11. As for Lincoln Southwest, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-11.

As for Lincoln Southwest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Lincoln East on the 6th.
