Basketball Recap: Jackson Generals vs. Northwestern Bulls

Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Northwestern Bulls, falling 71-40. The Generals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-15.

Jamiro Smith was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points for Northwestern. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in December of 2024. Dwight Carter was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 11 points and three steals.

Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Northwestern, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on Coral Park at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coral Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Jackson likes a good challenge. As for Northwestern, they will face off against Hialeah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
