Softball Recap: Spearfish Takes a Loss

Spearfish was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 17-2 to the Washington Warriors. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Spearfish saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skylar Viessman, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Spearfish's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Washington, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Spearfish didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-6 defeat against Roosevelt on the 22nd. As for Washington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-0 victory against Sturgis Brown on the 22nd.
