Baseball Recap: Grissom Comes Up Short

Grissom has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.91 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against the Athens Golden Eagles, falling 11-1. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Grissom saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Stroble, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Stroble also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Grissom has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season. The victory was the third in a row for Athens, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Grissom will challenge Hazel Green at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday up 78 places (8 vs. 86). Meanwhile, Athens (ranked 30th) will meet Brooks (ranked 307th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
