Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis Spartans vs. Resurrection Bandits

The St. Francis Spartans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Resurrection Bandits at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis will be strutting in after a win while Resurrection will be coming in after a loss.

St. Francis picked up another tournament win on Monday. They came out on top against Schaumburg by a score of 45-33.

Resurrection has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 40-30 to Taft on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bandits came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Eagles are ranked 333rd).

Resurrection's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for St. Francis, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-13 record this season.

St. Francis took their victory against Resurrection in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 45-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Francis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
