Baseball Recap: Ector Comes Up Short

If Ector was riding high fresh off their 22-12 takedown of Savoy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ector lost 9-3 to the Honey Grove Warriors on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 5-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Ector's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Honey Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ector is set to challenge their familiar foe Collinsville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Honey Grove will take on rival Savoy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Honey Grove's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Savoy has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
