Basketball Game Preview: iMater Charter Knights vs. Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions

IMater Charter hasn't had much luck against Immaculata-La Salle recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The iMater Charter Knights will welcome the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions at 7:30 p.m.

IMater Charter is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They took a blow against Schoolhouse Prep, falling 63-13.

Meanwhile, Immaculata-La Salle didn't have too much trouble with David Posnack Jewish Day on Wednesday as they won 45-26. Given the Royal Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Rams are ranked 459th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Immaculata-La Salle found their leader in sophomore Alexandra Gonzalez Casar, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gonzalez Casar has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peilin Aguilar-Hou, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Immaculata-La Salle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Immaculata-La Salle's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for iMater Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

IMater Charter might still be hurting after the 51-28 loss they got from Immaculata-La Salle when the teams last played back in November of 2024.
