Baseball Game Preview: Chicago University Maroons vs. Jones Eagles

The Chicago University Maroons will head out to square off against the Jones Eagles at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Chicago University is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Chicago University came up short against Latin on Wednesday, falling 18-6.

Neuqua Valley hit Jones with a six-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 14-4 to the Wildcats.

Jones saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christophe DeWijkerslooth, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Chicago University's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.

Everything went Chicago University's way against Jones when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Chicago University made off with a 25-17 victory. Will the Maroons repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
