The Westfield Rocks are taking a road trip to square off against the McCutcheon Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Westfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Avon, who was ranked 17th at the time (Westfield was ranked 23rd). The Rocks fell just short of the Orioles by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Rocks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Westfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Todd, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, McCutcheon was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Logansport. The game marked the first time this year in which the Mavericks were not able to get on the board.

Westfield's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10-1. As for McCutcheon, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Westfield hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like McCutcheon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Everything went Westfield's way against McCutcheon in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Westfield made off with a 13-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rocks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
