Baseball Game Preview: Spackenkill Spartans vs. Pine Plains Bombers

The Spackenkill Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Pine Plains Bombers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Spackenkill will be strutting in after a victory while Pine Plains will be coming in after a defeat.

While Spackenkill's win against Dover wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans skirted past the Dragons 5-4. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Pine Plains' offense. They came up short against Roosevelt on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Bombers in their meetings with the Presidents: they've now lost six in a row.

Pine Plains saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Blass, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Pine Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Spackenkill, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.

Everything went Spackenkill's way against Pine Plains when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Spackenkill made off with a 14-3 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bombers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
