Basketball Game Preview: El Camino Eagles vs. Natomas Nighthawks

Two dominant guards in Mitchell Stevenson and Manno Jenkins are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The El Camino Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Natomas Nighthawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: El Camino has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Natomas will arrive with three straight victories.

Last Friday, El Camino was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to Woodland.

Meanwhile, Natomas blew past Sutter, posting a 90-49 win. Given the Nighthawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Huskies are ranked 624th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Natomas' win came from a few key players El Camino will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aeron Wallace, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alfred Wilkins, who went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points and seven assists.

Natomas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.

Natomas' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for El Camino, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
