Softball Game Preview: Liberty Ranch Hawks vs. Bear Creek Bruins

The Liberty Ranch Hawks will square off against the Bear Creek Bruins at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Liberty Ranch turned things around against Kennedy on Friday. They blew past the Cougars 12-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Hawks' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Laura Quinn spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Paityn Snow was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Mariella Granata was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Liberty Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Bear Creek put another one in the bag last Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Summerville.

Liberty Ranch's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Bear Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
