Basketball Game Preview: University Wildcats vs. Torres Toros

The University Wildcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Torres Toros at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when University duked it out with West Adams on Thursday. The Wildcats took their matchup with ease, bagging a 72-40 win over the Panthers. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 25-point advantage.

Skylar Melton went supernova, shooting 53% from the field en route to 23 points along with eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Eduardo Hernandez, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 15 points and four steals.

University smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Torres put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Animo De La Hoya by a score of 46-39.

University now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Torres, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
