East Wake Academy will square off against Rosewood on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Wake Academy comes in on nine and Rosewood on five.
East Wake Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 win over East Columbus. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this game were averaging 3.29 runs allowed.

Mason Brantley tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April.
At the plate, James Duffield was a standout: he fired off two home runs, three runs, and one double while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Dylan Palmer was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
East Wake Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, while Rosewood put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for West Columbus. The Eagles came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 3-0.
Rosewood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxson Waters, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
East Wake Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Rosewood, their victory bumped their record up to 20-8.
Both East Wake Academy and Rosewood just can't seem to miss. East Wake Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Rosewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
