Baseball Recap: Lafayette Finds Playoff Glory Versus Heritage

With a playoff win on the line, Lafayette rose to the challenge on Thursday. They beat the Heritage Hurricanes by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Quinn Walton was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Breccan O'Grady, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Lafayette now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Heritage, their loss was their 24th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-24.

Coming up, Lafayette will square off against Grafton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Clippers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
