The Triton Trojans will face off against the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Triton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8  runs per game  this season.
Triton will bounce into Thursday's   contest after  beating North Judson-San Pierre, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  10-8  win over the Bluejays  on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Trojans have posted  since April 29, 2024.
 Braxton Kaufman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   two  hits. Kaufman was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  double. He also  brought in an  RBI, marking his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Maddox Dennie was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in April of 2024.  Jadyn Prater was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Triton  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  hit total in three consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Elkhart Christian Academy's offense. They came up short against  LaVille on Tuesday, falling  10-0.
 Elkhart Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Triton, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-3.
 Everything went Triton's way against Elkhart Christian Academy when the teams last played  back in April of 2024, as Triton made off with  a  12-0 victory. Do  the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
