Volleyball Recap: Roger Bacon Comes Up Short

Roger Bacon lost against Walnut Hills back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-20 in the first set.

Roger Bacon took Walnut Hills into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-16, 25-19, 20-25, 15-6.

Roger Bacon's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Walnut Hills, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roger Bacon will head out to challenge Lakota East at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Walnut Hills, they will venture away from home to square off against Elder at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
