Softball Recap: Eastern Wayne Comes Up Short

If Eastern Wayne was feeling good fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Greene Central last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eastern Wayne Warriors fell just short of the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.

Hannah Lee was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Lee is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Eastern Wayne fell to 2-1. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Wayne will take on Kinston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they will face off against Wake Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wake Prep Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
