Soccer Game Preview: Crossett vs. Star City

The Crossett Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Star City Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crossett's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Crossett came up short against ESTEM on Tuesday, falling 7-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Crossett were already down 5-1.

Meanwhile, Star City hasn't lost a match since March 4th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Stuttgart as they made off with a 5-1 victory. Star City might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by four goals or more this season.

Star City pushed their record up to 6-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three contests. As for Crossett, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Crossett might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Star City in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
