Softball Recap: Kenton Ridge Takes Down Lexington in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kenton Ridge had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Lexington Minutemen 4-3. The victory was just business as usual for the Cougars, who after 31 games remain undefeated this season.

Ivee Rastatter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, JJ Davis2027 was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. She has been hot, having posted three or more RBI the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilly Foulk, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Kenton Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.

Kenton Ridge's win bumped their record up to 31-0. As for Lexington, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-4.

Kenton Ridge has already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Hillsboro on the 5th. Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
