Basketball Recap: Wren Hurricanes vs. South Pointe Stallions
Wren played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 90-36 loss at the hands of the South Pointe Stallions. The Hurricanes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-21.
Despite the defeat, Wren saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ava O'shields posted 11 points.
South Pointe was led to victory by Kaleigh Lucas and JaNyia Cunningham. Lucas shot 5-for-9 from long range and almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine assists, while Cunningham dropped a double-double with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Lucas' big performance that evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.
