League recap: Phoenix climbs in state rankings with win

Phoenix moved up to 104 from 131 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Skyline. The Pirates were able to make the jump by beating Molalla 22-19.

Phoenix and the Indians played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Phoenix eventually emerging with a 22-19 victory.

North Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tristan Burke has thrown for 487 yards and six touchdowns this season, while JJ Chirnside has 11 catches for 125 yards. Austin Neill leads the league in rushing with 301 yards.

A big matchup in 4A Skyline this week will be when Henley takes on Klamath Union. At the moment, the Hornets are in fifth, while the Pelicans are in second.

Toby Walker's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,488 from 11,442. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 22-19 victory over Molalla last week.
