Recap: Wilby Wildcats vs. Waterbury Career Academy Spartans
This season hasn't been kind to the Wilby Wildcats, who are still winless after their tenth match. They were beaten by Waterbury Career Academy 62-14 on Monday. Wilby has not had much luck with Waterbury Career Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
D'vonte Lane was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Lane has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played.
Waterbury Career Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Wilby has yet to win a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 0-10 record. As for Waterbury Career Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Wilby does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Waterbury Career Academy will head out on the road to face off against Ansonia at 6:30 p.m. on November 28th. Ansonia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 390 points over their last nine matchups.
