After losing to Flora the last time they met, Edwards County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions came out on top against the Wolves by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Allison Groff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kyndal Richards, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Holly Hensley, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Edwards County's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Flora, they dropped their record down to 12-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Edwards County is taking a road trip to square off against Robinson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Maroons will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Flora, they will welcome Marshall at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
