Baseball Recap: Tulare Union Takes a Loss

Tulare Union fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Corcoran on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Corcoran Panthers by a score of 8-7. The Tribe's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row dating back to last season.

Maryk Heffley put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Heffley was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Ryan Rutledge was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Tulare Union's record now sits at 0-2. As for Corcoran, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tulare Union will face off against Exeter at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Corcoran, they will take on Fresno Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
