Basketball Game Preview: Midtown Knights vs. M.L. King Lions

The Midtown Knights will take on the M.L. King Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midtown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully M.L. King likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, everything went Midtown's way against Forest Park as Midtown made off with a 67-42 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, M.L. King was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 57-53 to Creekside. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Midtown has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points per game. As for M.L. King, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Everything came up roses for Midtown against M.L. King in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 76-49 victory. In that matchup, Midtown amassed a halftime lead of 55-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
