Baseball Recap: Fall River Takes a Loss

Fall River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 6-1 to the Mt. Shasta Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Friday.

Fall River saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rhett Overton, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Fall River's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Mt. Shasta, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.

Fall River will host Modoc at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Mt. Shasta, they will take on West Valley at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
