While Spring Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11-2), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Sumter Gamecocks 4-0 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season so far.

They hit Sumter with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Winston Hines, Bryan Lee, Raleigh Rodriguez, and Axel Domingo Lopez.

The win (which was Spring Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Sumter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Spring Valley will venture away from home to square off against Blythewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sumter, they will host Lugoff-Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sumter will be up against Lugoff-Elgin's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.43 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
