Last Tuesday, Lisbon was the victim of a rough 61-36 defeat at the hands of Kindred. While losing is never fun, Lisbon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Kindred is ranked 20th).
Despite their defeat, Lisbon saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Emerson Schultz, who scored 15 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Hoff, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Valley City's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northern Cass.
Lisbon has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Valley City, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.
