Softball Recap: Cambridge Bobcats vs. Harrison Central Huskies

Cambridge extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-11 in the process. They fell 12-8 to the Harrison Central Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-6 on Saturday.

Miranda Cole made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Chloe Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Harrison Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games.

On Harrison Central's side, Emma Skinner looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Skinner has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kelsey Powers was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Banal, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Cambridge will head out to face off against Bellaire at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats are facing the Big Reds at the right time seeing as the Big Reds are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Harrison Central, they will host Weir at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Huskies 3.6, the Red Riders 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
