Baseball Recap: Evadale's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Evadale and Milano squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Evadale had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-1. The Rebels' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Cooper Palmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Evadale's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 8-4 (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Evadale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Hubbard, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Evadale's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Milano, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Evadale by a score of 3-1 later that day.
