Basketball Game Preview: Weequahic Indians vs. Eagle Academy

The Weequahic Indians will head out on the road to take on Eagle Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Weequahic came up short against East Side and fell 56-47. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from James Porter, who went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riyahd McDonald, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Eagle Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 47-42 to Nutley. Eagle Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Weequahic now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Eagle Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Weequahic came up short against Eagle Academy when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-45. Can Weequahic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
