Winning always takes teamwork, but on Wednesday Lila Manfredonia stepped things up a notch to give Independence the 'W'. Manfredonia wasn't messing around, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. The pitching appearance was her eighth straight with five or more strikeouts.

Manfredonia's strong effort led Independence over Brooklyn and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
