Basketball Recap: Bishop Kelley Falls Short of Carl Albert in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Bishop Kelley couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 49-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carl Albert Titans on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Bishop Kelley lost, don't look at Erin Jolin. Despite the final result, she posted six points along with seven boards and four blocks. That's the most rebounds Jolin has posted since back in January. Julia Grisaffe was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Bishop Kelley was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their fourth loss (out of 21 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Bishop Kelley's loss dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Carl Albert, the win was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-1.

Bishop Kelley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carl Albert, they will face off against Booker T. Washington on Thursday. Booker T. Washington will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Carl Albert surely won't give up without a fight.
