Baseball Game Preview: North Hardin Trojans vs. Larue County Hawks

The North Hardin Trojans will take on the Larue County Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

North Hardin fell victim to North Bullitt and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Eagles. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Larue County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past Glasgow 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on six straight.

Brady Skaggs made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Skaggs wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kasen McDowell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was McDowell's first of the season.

Larue County pushed their record up to 15-2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for North Hardin, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
