Basketball Recap: Franklin County Tech Takes a Loss

Franklin County Tech was the 48-26 winner over John J. Duggan Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Franklin County Tech Eagles fell just short of John J. Duggan Academy by a score of 47-45 on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Franklin County Tech still got an impressive performance from Hannah Gilbert, who almost dropped a triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and nine steals. That's the most steals Gilbert has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Dobias, who put up six points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Franklin County Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive matches.

Franklin County Tech's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for John J. Duggan Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

As of now, neither Franklin County Tech nor John J. Duggan Academy have any future games scheduled.
