Baseball Game Preview: False River Gators vs. Avoyelles Mustangs

The False River Gators will head out on the road to challenge the Avoyelles Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. False River has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

False River came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-3 to Ascension Christian. The loss continues a trend for the Gators in their meetings with Ascension Christian: they've now lost nine in a row.

False River saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benson Jewell, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Avoyelles beat Hornbeck 10-5 on Monday.

Avoyelles has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for False River, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-18.
