The Renaissance Phoenix just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Renaissance is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Michigan's top teams: Gabriel Richard, who was ranked second at the time (Renaissance was ranked 15th). Renaissance came up short against Gabriel Richard on Thursday, falling 63-39. The game marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Detroit Country Day blew past Marian, posting a 66-33 victory. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Detroit Country Day and bumps their season record up to 15-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points over those games. As for Renaissance, their loss dropped their record down to 21-2.

Renaissance was able to grind out a solid victory over Detroit Country Day in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 59-48. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Detroit Country Day's Jaidyn Elam, who posted 18 points along with eight boards and four steals.
