Trey Scheler Earns League's Top Spot

Starting off the list is Cheyenne Wells's Trey Scheler, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Scheler rushed for 182 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made four total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

The win for Cheyenne Wells keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Scheler and Cheyenne Wells will square off against Eads at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Winder Posts Huge Game in 40-38 Win

Shaine Winder continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his third-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 146 rushing yards. He rushed for 233 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.

Unfortunately for Cheraw, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Winder. When Winder last faced the Wolverines back in September of 2023, he rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown.

Maddox Coleman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Granada over Stratton

Maddox Coleman put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown.

If history really does repeat itself, Coleman might just drop another big game when he faces off against Walsh on Friday. Coleman rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 99 yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Eagles duked it out back in September of 2023.

Grant Mauch helped snap Wiley's 12-game losing streak dating back to last season. Mauch threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 81 yards on only five carries, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.

Wiley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Mauch and Wiley will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Flagler at 1:00 p.m. on October 19th.
