Baseball Recap: Sparta Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sparta had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Okawville Rockets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 on Monday.

Braden Reinhardt was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Skylar Spivey, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sparta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Sparta's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Okawville, their loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Sparta has already played their next matchup, a 9-5 defeat against DuQuoin on the 2nd. Okawville has also already played their next contest (against Steeleville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
