It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Thousand Oaks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Westlake Warriors 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Warriors on April 1st, they had to take a 6-3 defeat.

Thousand Oaks' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madison Jauregui, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Thousand Oaks and bumps their season record up to 18-6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Westlake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Thousand Oaks will take on rival Agoura at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 2.8, the Chargers 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Westlake is set to square off against their familiar foe Newbury Park at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
