Softball Recap: Holy Names Academy Comes Up Short

Holy Names Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 10-7 to the Lincoln Lynx. Holy Names Academy was not able to make up for their loss to Lincoln from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Lee Smedstad was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Smedstad is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Delanie Gilda, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Holy Names Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Names Academy will square off against Ballard at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincoln, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bishop Blanchet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
