Softball Recap: Orem Beats Timpanogos for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Orem proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 23) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Timpanogos Timberwolves 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kiley Hoshnic spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sadie Groneman, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Orem pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Timpanogos, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Orem will take on rival Uintah at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Timpanogos is set to square off against their familiar foe Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
